The local amateur theatre troupe Teatersmedjan (The Theatre Smithy) decided to do a trilogy of Swedish children´s books author Astrid Lindgren´s three primary fantasies. They started off with ”The Brothers Lionheart”, a story set in a medieval secondary world. I came in very late in production when they needed help producing helmets for the bad guy´s soldiers (as well as for the bad guy). The helmets were sculpted in clay, plaster molds were made and sturdy rubber poured in to produce tough skins. The skins were then enforced with hard polyfoam. Thus the helmets were easily removed from the molds and several helmets could be produced quickly.

It was also decided that the villain, Tengil, who kept a pet dragon, would be scarred by fire, so I made a set of latex appliances for one side of his face. A new appliance was used for each show.
