The mimsy borogoves (in the poem ”Jabberwocky”) are later in the book ”Through the Looking Glass” describes as a mix of bird and cleaning mop. They appear to be mostly depressed and quite immobile, so the puppet (one was built, but several a featured in the film) is a fairly simple one and not very jointed.
